Vulnerable Sector Screening
1. All volunteers with NMHA are required to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Screening as per our VSS Policy.
2. Effective June 1, 2010 a new YRP form took effect. This form will no longer require the signature from an NMHA authorized representative.
3. You may download the Vulnerable Sector Screening form by clicking here, or from the York Regional Police Web Site, or you can obtain a form and complete it when attending one of the YRP Customer Service locations.
4. Each applicant MUST BRING THIS FORM IN PERSON to one of the two locations indicated on the form. The police are obligated to make a visual identification of each applicant, NO EXCEPTIONS. The person will need to show two pieces of identification, preferably government issued, one being photo identification ie. drivers license. 5. Each applicant will need to pay a $20.00 fee when they submit their form to the Police (certified cheque or money order made payable to the York Regional Police, Visa, MasterCard, debit card or cash).
6. Each applicant will receive a response letter from the Police, the original reply must be submitted to the NMHA office in order for this process to be complete and the applicant approved. The response letter should be placed in an envelope marked Vulnerable Sector Screening and the individual's name placed on the front of the envelope and submitted to the hockey office.
7. Once accepted, the volunteers name will appear on the Currently Approved Volunteers list.
