Notice of an IMPORTANT CHANGE in the REGISTRATION PROCESS
To All NMHA Members,
During this month’s Executive meeting the Executive approved a measure to change our registration dates. It is necessary to make these changes to allow the NMHA to be better prepared for the upcoming season. Each year late registrations affect team counts, which have a cascading effect on volunteer, sponsorship, uniform and ice requirements. Now that the Town of Newmarket has changed their ice return policies, late registration impacts the Association financially, as well as creating an unacceptable level of logistical chaos in getting team uniforms prepared for our teams. Please take the time to read the following very carefully.
Effective this year, our registration for the 2012/2013 season will be opened on May 1, 2012 and close on July 31, 2012. Rates will be posted after the budget review during the Annual General Meeting and subsequent meeting of the new Executive on or about April 25, 2012. After registration closes on July 31, 2012, the Association will then decide how many teams will participate in each House League division and thereby determine how many registration spots remain available within each age group based on the number of registrants received. People will be able to register their children up until all available spots have been filled. Once the spots have been filled anyone else wishing to enroll in the NMHA will be placed on a waitlist and it is very possible will not have the opportunity to play in the NMHA for the coming season.
This change in dates will apply for all divisions with the exception of Midget/Juvenile aged players. The registration deadlines will remain unchanged for that division.

Convenors Required for 2012-2013 season
We are currently looking for Volunteers to fill the House League Convenor positions.
The position of Convenor is an administrative position requiring general administrative and organizational skills. You do not need to be a hockey expert.
A Convenor MUST be in place before any division can play any games. If we find ourselves without a Convenor for any division at the start of the season then the teams in that division will only be able to practice and no games will be scheduled until such time as a volunteer for the position of Convenor is identified.
If you are thinking about contributing your time to the kids of the NMHA please consider the position of Convenor.
